Olga Tserklevich

Olga saved her grandmother, Svitlana’s life after noticing the three main stroke symptoms, face, arm, and speech, whilst spending time with her. Olga recognised these straight away thanks to the FAST Heroes campaign and alerted her parents. An ambulance was called and thanks to Olga’s swift action, her grandmother was well enough to return home after six days.

Samko & Petko Brnak

Samko and Petko live with their grandmother and noticed that she couldn’t move one side of her body. Thanks to the FAST Heroes campaign, they both immediately ran to their parents who called the emergency services who saved her life.

Emka Horvathová

Emka was born with a mild intellectual disability but did not let this phase her when she saved her grandfather’s life. Emka noticed that her grandfather couldn’t respond to conversation and had a crooked mouth so informed her grandmother straight away that a doctor needed to be called. This resulted in her grandfather’s life being saved, all thanks to what she learnt during the FAST Heroes campaign.

Darya Kovtun

Darya loved learning about the FAST Heroes campaign and spread the knowledge across her village. When Darya’s grandmother became ill, Darya called an ambulance because she knew this number off by heart thanks to FAST Heroes. Luckily, Darya’s grandmother didn’t suffer a stroke, but found that she had high blood pressure.

Ninka Ivančíková

After taking part in FAST Heroes at school, Ninka taught her grandmother about stroke and the symptoms, and what to do if she encountered this emergency. Ninka’s grandmother stuck a FAST poster on her fridge. Because of this poster from Ninka, her grandmother saved her grandfather’s life when he suffered a stroke.

Angelos and his family were celebrating the new year when his grandfather begun to show stroke symptoms. Angelos immediately recognised what was happening and ran to his mum to call 911 like he had learnt in the FAST Heroes programme.

Teodor saved his grandmother’s life after he realised she was having a stroke. Teodor noticed his grandmother couldn’t speak properly and her face was drooping. He immediately called 911 as he had learnt from FAST Heroes which ultimately saved her life.

Two years after taking part in the FAST Heroes campaign, César noticed his grandmother’s speech was beginning to slur and her face was drooping. He immediately called 911 and made the emergency services aware of his grandmother’s condition. Thanks to his fast actions, César saved his grandmother’s life.

Alexandra Csuporiová

Alexandra turned her knowledge into action after noticing that her grandmother was mumbling her words so much that Alexandra was struggling to understand what she was saying. Thanks to Alexandra’s FAST knowledge, she immediately called 911 and informed the ambulance of what was happening to her grandmother.

Konstantinos was with his grandfather when he noticed his grandfather displaying the three stroke symptoms and ran to his grandmother to help. The immediate recognition of his grandfather’s symptoms thanks to the FAST Heroes campaign ultimately saved his life.

Daria Boboșilă

Daria gets picked up from school from an elderly person, and one day noticed that the lady was not feeling well. Daria noticed that her nanny was not speaking properly and thought about the FAST Heroes knowledge she had learnt in school. She told her nanny to go to the doctors. Thankfully she was not suffering from a stroke but in fact was suffering with high blood pressure.

Benedek Bor

Benedek took what he had learnt in the FAST Heroes programme and used this to help a lady who was injured on the side of the road. He urged his mother to call the emergency number in order to give the lady the help she needed and was commended by the ambulance crew for his bravery.

Agnieszka Puk

Agnieska, who’s dad suffered a stroke and sadly passed away, spread her knowledge from teaching the FAST Heroes campaign to her friend. One day, Agnieska received a message from that same friend who said she was immensely grateful that they had the conversation about stroke as this saved her husband’s life.
